Description
This is the world-renowned, classic one-component varnish that sets the standard for a deep, mirror-like finish in the marine industry. It is formulated with natural Tung Oil, phenolic resin, and alkyd resin to deliver a unique balance of beauty and resilience.
Key Features:
- Ultimate Gloss & Clarity: Delivers an extreme high-gloss, transparent amber finish with superior gloss retention over time.
-
Maximum Protection: Contains an effective UV filter to prevent wood discoloration. Its high flexibility ensures it won’t crack on “working” wood (moving with temperature/moisture changes).
- Unique Application: Features excellent flow characteristics and high build capacity, making it easy to achieve a full, deep finish. Famous for its long-lasting properties, even in tropical or harsh marine climates.
- Versatile Use: Ideal for new work on bare solid wood (mahogany, meranti, etc.) and plywood, both inside and outside above the waterline. Also perfect for maintaining and overcoating intact existing one- or two-component varnishes.
- Composition & Environment: Based on Tung Oil/Phenolic Resin/Alkyd Resin, bonded for weather resistance. It has a VOC level of 370 g/l.
Application Tips:
- Prep: Bare wood must be degreased and sanded (180G).
- First Coat: For maximal penetration, thin the first coat 40-50%. Subsequent coats require less or no thinning.
- Method: Best applied with a long-haired, soft brush or by air spray. Roller application is not advised due to the required wet film thickness.
- Conditions: Apply between 47°F and 86°F. Do not apply excessive wet film thickness or apply wet-on-wet.
